I found this great simple TrueFire.com video about how to play a blues solo. It’s basically almost like a jam track to help you give soloing a try, perhaps for the first time.

But first, go learn the pentatonic scales on this page on my site. It’s really all you need to be able to play along with this video. And if you need something even easier, check out the B.B. King Blues Box for some really simple lead positions that almost anyone can do.

Playing a solo is really just a matter of trial and error. If you just “step up to the plate” and start doing it, over time you’ll get better and better. It’s not hard and with simple blues and the pentatonic scale it’s hard to make a mistake.

But best of all… I bet you will have a lot of fun!
