Another great night at StingRays Bar and Grill with Jimmy Griswold and friends. Tonight was special because super drummer Glenn Evans was back in town holding down the house-band drum seat and brought his friend Cory Wheeler to sit in on guitar. And of course the ever-solid Jay Goldman held down bass duties for the house band.
The first set shows Cory at his best, along with Tom Mignella on sax and of course Jimmy himself. Check out the slow blues Driftin and Driftin to hear slow blues played right.
Also in attendance this night was…
- Donnie DeLee on guitar
- Rick Honeyboy Hart on guitar
- Lee Shivley on drums
- Jeff on drums
- Tommy McCoy on guitar
- KSue Lovastay Drumastay on percussion
- Larry McKinnon on congas
Also a young 15 year-old Drew dropped in fresh from coming down from up north to see the Clearwater Blues Fest. He played well beyond his years and kept up with some great players. You can see him in the 3rd video.
By the way, the photo of Jimmy to the right was done by Lee Stelling.
