The Betty Fox Band is a Tampa Florida band that is up-and-coming in the blues world. If they get the right breaks they can go a long way. They have the talent and the material, and though only 27, Betty Fox has an amazing understanding of the blues and its roots… not to mention a voice in the same league as the best woman blues singers of all time including Ruth Brown and Etta James. And Josh Nelms on guitar is one of those young players that has a deep understanding of The Blues and has all the chops. The two of them form a great team.

Usually the band plays locally around Florida and particularly in the the Tampa Bay area, but every once and a while they get to play a bigger show and really do their thing. The Dunedin Wines The Blues festival was one of those opportunities. This festival is small compared to many of the Blues Fests around but it draws a good crowd in the 3000-5000 range. It gives Betty and her band a chance to learn what it takes to connect with a large crowd and how to put on a show where she gets to feature her top-notch original music. It’s all part of the learning process for a band on the way up.

Here’s some videos from the show. It will give you a chance to see the band in action and show you Betty’s power on stage. Enjoy!

Mama He Treats Your Daughter Mean

Down

This original song not only shows Betty’s amazing vocal range and style but you get to hear Josh Nelm’s great lead that takes the song into even higher ground.

Who’t Holdin?

This is an original Swing tune about smoking pot. Hmmm? Now that’s interesting.
